I think you are like me , want power , dont wanna spend ALL your money to get it , I debated them all KB , procharger , paxton and vortech for the last six months and called Dallas mustang last week and ordered the vortech for my 2002 Gt , $3140 plus shipping , it will be here tomorrow and I am going to put it on wednesday and if i dont finish ill do the rest of the install this weekend . paxton is cheaper but only 100 bucks and the vortech is easier to upgrade later , I also have an extra 300 to 500 set aside for getting it dyno tuned after its on , the reason i didnt get a kit without a chip is because i will have to drive it to get it dyno tuned which is a must with any supercharger .

a vortech system would probably be the cheapest. The power comes on when you need it and traction's an issue, even with all the power up top. I paid 3800 for everything and did the work myself. Do a search on blowers and you'll find litterally hundreds of posts from the last few months, seems to have died down now, but it was nuts all last year with posts. I myself made 357 RWHP and 360 RWTQ with a V2-SQ and the Steeda tune and with nothing else done to the car. Stock right down to the mufflers and tips. Cobra Killer had (might still) a special where he was adding in a T-Trim Vortech instead of the SQ Trim for free. More power, same price.

you can get an intercooled procharger kit for under $3500. i personally prefer intercooled boost, simply because of the safety and ability to run more boost. the KB is an excellent kit, woulda been my #2 choice, but you do pay a lot more. the procharger comes on more up top just like the vortech and IMO is much better for the stang's powerband.

if you're interrested in a procharger......go here.....

cheapest prices you'll find.

Look at dyno sheets, the KB has a flat torque band from Idle on up, where as the centrifugals build gradually......Not trying to flame or show you up, but you wouldn't rather have full boost and torque right away?? Also from all the research I have done, the KB has the same if not better #'s at any given RPM and Boost level.

sorry to double post, but let me just say that it is all up to the drivers personal pref. KB and ATI are both very good companies with great historys along with Vortech and Paxton. All comes down to your needs and budget. Just remember as with most things in life, you get what you pay for.

very true, very true. i wanted to say the same thing and forgot.

one more thing to answer dan's question. one reason i chose the ATI over the kenne bell was because of the gradual increase in boost. i have a truck, and with enough traction problems as it is, i didnt need the sudden jolt of 9 or 10 pounds of boost jerking my tires loose and killing my rear end. while the feeling is awesome and you can't argue with the power that instant boost makes, i probably would not have been able to put that power on the road very well. thus my choice.

as soon as i hit it, the ATI spools to 6# and starts rising. hits 12# or 13# at shift and falls back to about 6 or 7. the low end is comparable (not equal) to a roots/twin screw and upper end MUCH better.

i do also beleive centrifugals make your drivetrain a little more reliable than roots simply because of not as much shock to the drivetrain when you stomp it. like i said, 10# instantly can be a jolt....

i love either kit. you cant go wrong. flip a coin or something.........

I really want to take a ride in a KB'ed GT....I want to see the difference in person. I'm sure i'll find someone locally eventually with a 9psi kit.

I dont have traction as it is with the boost coming on at 3500. Not knocking the kenne belle as it does what it's advertised to do, but it's just not fitting with my needs. The power numbers are impressive though and so is the power band. On that note, Micool's car had a flat power band too and that was a T-trim.
