I posted this in the power adder forum and have yet to receive a response, so I'll post it here too....
All right, here is the question....one that's been asked a million times by now, I'm sure....but I can't seem to find the answer. I have a 00 gt with just an x-pipe and cat back and am looking to perhaps add a supercharger (I'd love to go turbo, but it just seems to be too expensive). I want safe, reliable horsepower...nothing too crazy, maybe 350 - 370 rwhp. I do not plan on ever drag racing....Imean never...in fact I would prefer to have the power come on more towards the upper end of the rpm's than the lower......Being this car is more about highway mileage than anything I am interested in acceleration from 20 to 120 mph, not 1/4 mile times. This car will not be run hard (hasn't yet), just a spirited pull now and then...this is my only mode of trans, so it cannot break. So, here it is.....what do I get??
From what I gather....my desire to have more upper end power and less low end torque would steer me away from a KB twin-screw setup....but when i start reading about Paxton/Novi/Procharger/ATI/Vortech my eyes glaze over and my brain starts leaking out of my ears (not to mention t-trim, s-trim, etc.....). It also would seem that an intercooler is not something I would need as much (I would never be running it hard or doing repeated full throttle applications). So what suits my needs best??
Price is an object......so give me a ballpark for everything needed (minus install and tune). I appreciate all of your opinions so let's hear 'em.
