Why do you think you can't? You can use any gear ratio you want but all depends on how much top end and hole shot power you are looking for. The 4:10's are reasonable but short as hell with the boost but it can be done and has by many people.

I heard that I'll run out of gear too quickly.
How much will my top end be effected? Will I not be able to do over 100mph?
I'm not too concerned on top speed but more into a faster 1/4.
Also do you know how much boost my car can handle with stock heads, cam and intake?

You will run out of gears in the 1/4 w/ 4.10's if your pushing enough power. Its not so much the stock heads and cam as far as boost but most street driven cars can safley see 10# of boost.

According to ATI, a healthy stock bottom end can handle 14 psi. I was going to run a D1 Procharger on my stock 94 cobra, but decided to go Kenne Bell.

I too have 4.10s. I should be installing the KB withint the next 2 weeks.

As for the 4.10, no you won;t run out of top end at 100, but 1st gear will definitely be worthless... It is worthless now with my relatively stock car.

I will toy aroudn with it for a while and see.

With a KB and the ridiculous torque they make at low rpms (its a good thing!) traction will be non existant with those gears. 3.55's would suit that settup well, with all the "area under the curve" you will be able to get away with a low gear(numerically low), and make it very fun the street.

Alot of KB cars i see are like turbo cars, 3.55's and 3.27's seem to be the favorites. Of course you can always throw a nice big tire on there...

You guys are saying it's o.k for me to have a s/c and 4:10's right?
So why are people telling me a supercharger is no good with 4:10's?

if you trap too high..... you will have to go to 5th in the 1/4

but on the street with traction daily it will be a blast.

toss a b21 cam and spring set in there to get some more rpm and power over the stock setup..... this will make your 4.10s more useable in the 1/4

You will eventually run outta gear in the 1/4. You never want to shift into 5th in the 1/4.
On stock H/C/I you prob ok right now, but when you do a few mods your gonna run outta gear. My car is running outta gear with 3.73's right now..lol
Blower cars usually have high mphs.

i agree les gear is better i'm on the fence about putting 3.55's in my car i have a friend that ran his car on the motor and 4.10's were fine but as soon as he put the blower on it wouldn't make it thru the 1/4 with out hitting the rev limiter . i had mine rasied so i can spin my motor to 6500 i cross the line aound 6000 now at 120 mph .

This summer Im switching Gears in mine b/c right now there stock and they suck. Im going to 3.55's ( already have them just need to install them). My friend is running 3.73's on his 91 turbo LX and hes switching to 3.55's as well. 4.10s are just really steep on a blown car, forget about 1st gear and 2ed wont be much use either. If you have H/C/I and a blower on the car you will need to shift into 5th in the 1/4 and thats not a good thing. Had a friend w/ a 91 GT Vortech S-Trim H/C/I w/ 4.10 and went to the track w/ them once and came home and took them out.
