Suspension packages?

I'm looking at getting shocks, struts, springs, c/c plates, etc shortly. I stumbled upon http://www.livermoreperformance.com/mustang_suspension.html by accident, and thats what gave me the idea of buying it as a package deal. That way I would save a couple bucks, and get it all at once. Anyone ever bought a suspension package?

I haven't ever bought a pacage deal but i like the launch box kit. I would like it better if it had adjustable struts and shocks.

Well it depends upon how much money you have, and what you want to do with it (i.e. drag racing, street-strip, road course racer). I have bought from Maximum Motorsports the subframe connectors and they are high quality and well packaged as any others.

But the best thing I can recommend is to do A LOT of research on it. There are MANY manufacturers with good reputations out there that give you alot of different packages. Maximum Motorsports is good, but also look at Griggs Racing and Kenny Brown performance packages. Just don't buy anything that is an off-brand that says it's as good as the maufacturers that I have previously mentioned. They don't have as good of fit and finish in their components, and the research, in my experience, hasn't been as in depth. Maximum Motorsports, Griggs, and Kenny Brown all have had race cars that they put their products to the test on. Griggs racing has done it since 83' with their blue little notchback.

But I HIGHLY recommend spending the money on the Bilstein's! I bought them from Summit Racing, all 4, for a total of $650. BEST thing I could have ever bought. A nice ride with all the handling you could want.

While I want to leave the line at 5K, and run mid 11s, that will be rare. Mostly the car is just for around town late at night, and on nice afternoons. I don't drive it 80 miles roundtrip to work(due to has costs) and only my civic with its parking pass can be driven to class. I'm no corner carver. I just want something that rides real nice, and be be thrown into corners(no drag only setup).

The more I look at it, the "Road & Track Box" looks to be the one for me.

I know I REALLY need the full length subframes. Also, without my quad shocks, I get massive wheel hop, so I want some LCAs to hopefully fix this. This kit has both of those items, plus the shocks, struts, c/c plates, and other goodies.

Yea, there are a lot of decent suspension parts out there. Totally depends on how much your looking to spend. Everything is going to ride and react different. i have seen some very simple and cheap, yet Very effective combinations. I have been low 1.7's on my combo with c springs, and drag radials, everything else relatively stock.... ;-)

No, but they don't need to be. If you want more aggressive ones than the regularly valved ones, Maximum Motorsports has specially valved ones for racing, direct from Bilstein, if that is what you are looking for.

Well then if you aren't using it as a daily driver, and the stang sees use as a weekend joy rider, then go for that package. I like it and would DEFINITELY HELP your car out, especially the occasional 11 second run. I would wager that the package would potentially drop your E.T. by .3-.5 seconds. This would be due to the added structural rigidity of your car, and the improved rear suspension.

BUT I would HIGHLY recommend also comparing that to Griggs Racing's GR40 Package. It is one HELLUVA performer!

I heard te GRIGGS stuff is more harsh and not as street friendly by a friend that has had both Griggs and Max. Motorsports

"packages" from repatable companies can also be a great deal because the parts are designed to work togeather.

Adjustable shocks are good, but from what I hear you have to adjust them a lot for every condition, while billstiens adjust to the conditions. Also, you can't beat the ride of a billstien.
