Over the winter im puttin new 180cc pro toplines with the 58cc combustion chambers on my 347. Along with a new cam and injectors I plan on making at least 350 rwhp. The stock suspension isnt cuttin it with the power im making now, even with the drag radials. This is deffinately a budget build up and looking for the cheapest route possible to running low 12s-high 11s. I was thinking of Eibach drag springs with lakewood 70/30s in the front and 50/50s out back. Im still not sure what to do about the rear upper and lower control arms. I was thinking of Proforms because they're cheap, but i wanna make sure that they can plant the power. what would you do?

Well that sounds like a good setup. I would go with an airbag in the back too. I just bought tubular lower/upper control arms off ebay from MuscleMotors for $183.00 shipped to my door. That is about $100 cheaper than summit, MM, etc. If you look at these control arms they are EXACTLY the same casting as the more expensive ones, and these actually have grease fittings. If you want to go el cheapo, you can get yourself a set of 4 cyl springs. That is a cheap way to get a little more power to the wheels. Hope this helps!

Last year a buddy of mine managed a consistent 1.6 60' in his '91 LX using the Eibach drag springs, Mac upper/lower control arms, and I think that was on weld draglites w/ ET Streets. He also pulled the A/C and front sway bar to help with that. Still using a 302, but it hooked like a beast. It's got more done to it now that got it down to a 1.5 60', but that took quite a bit more work.

would the 4 cyl springs get the job done? Also, couldnt i just change the front springs or would the 4 cyl rear springs make a difference too?

If you're going to change any springs at all, I'd go with the rear springs. It's going to affect the stance just as the fronts would, but they'll also make a difference in how firm the jump is and how much give is allowed before the chassis will brace the rear axle against the pavement. You really should go all around though.

I think your better off either doing 4 banger springs in the front or if your going to really do it then get some coil-overs. UCA and LCA's help a lot also.

You definately want a firmer spring in the back. If you run a 4 cyl spring in the back, squat it will, but thats wasted energy you could be getting to the wheels. If you are on a tight budget, go with a set of stock 5.0 rear springs, 4 cyl fronts, lakewood 90/10s up front, 50/50's in the back, and those ebay control arms. This will be a full suspension for about $350. Thats about the cheapest you can go.
