SUSPENSION PROS WHERE ARE YOU?

Stock shocks will suck with sportlines.

Best bet get some good shocks(tokico,bilsteins) and some c&c plates.If not you will hate the ride.I know i had sportlines for years on mine.

the way I look at it is why tear apart your suspension several times. just save an extra 400 bucks and get the c/c plates(you will definately need these to get the allignment correct, if you dont you will pay more in the long run when your tires wear unevenly) and aftermarket shocks, like everyones said they handle better with aftermarket springs, you can get tokico mach1 shocks/struts for like $180. Control arms will always help with traction but not if you just care about looks.

Save for a few more months if necessary and get it all done at once. That way you can get it dialed in right the first time. If you only care about looks your going to still at least need tokicos because you will be on the bump stops all day long with stock struts and shocks, and your handling will be frightning. You will need cc plates, do it right and get MM plates (preferrably), or other good 4 bolt cc plate. You dont need the rear stuff either if just going for looks. But you wan to buy good stuff now so you will have a solid foundation when you start caring how a car handles.

Why do the work twice. The factory S/S will not last long with the stiffer spring rates and they will be bottoming out with the lower geometry. Besides, you will like the better handling once you get all the suspension on.

I have some suspension experience with these issues. With the sportline drop, you need caster camber plates (Maximum Motorsport 4 bolts are the best out there) to get the correct alignment. You will also need new struts and shocks. Bilstein's can be had for a nice price at www.bimmerparts.com and their dampening would be compatible with the spring rates of the sportlines. The stock shocks and struts will be to soft and the ride will be harsh. They are also more proned to 'blow' since you are lowering somewhat significantly.

If you want the car to handle well, get some MM LCA's, but if you don't care and you like wheel hop, leave it stock i guess.
