Suspension time! Got questions!!!

For the past month I have been ripping out my hair trying to decide what my next mod should be. little did I know that my fate was already set, my struts/shocks are shot. So I have been looking at the bullitt suspension package and almost ordered it, but now I think I need something more. I am thinking tokico adjustables, FRPP subframes, and FRPP springs. Here is the problem: what springs do I get?! I do not understand the rates at all. I would like the "f" or "g" springs because they offer the 1.0-1.2 drop (I dont want to mess with C/C plates) but what can I expect from them? This is my everyday driver, but I would like a FIRM suspension. Also are the tokico adjustables REALLY worth the money? or will the HP's be enough for my everyday driving and occaisonal racing?

I guess I just need a lot of advise!! HELP!

Bullitt setup for you if you're not a frequent drag racer. You don't need c/c plates with the bullitt setup

If you like the drop from the bullitt.. get the springs from www.fordpartsnetwork.com, then get bilstein dampers. That would be plenty stiff. The bullitt springs are 600 compression front and 250 rear which is stiffer than a lot of the FR springs. Then skip the FRPP subframes and get Griggs racing ones.. Then Maximum Motorsports LCA's. The LCA's are the WEAAAAAKest link in our suspension. I put on the MM LCA's and removed the quad-shocks.. Night and day.

The Bullitt suspension package is a nice set up for a daily driver...FRPP "B" springs compare to Steeda Sport springs, "C" springs are a little bit stiffer. As stated above, control arms make a WORLD of difference in how your car will handle, steering and straight ahead performance.

sounds cool, but i still dont understand the spring rates and how they work? I would like it to be just a little lower than the bullitt suspension, but i would also like to add LT headers later on with no ground clearence problems....also where is the cheapest place to pick up some blisteins?

Are you looking for looks or handling? Dropping lower than 1" will hurt performance...

I scrape over some speed bumps with my magnaflow catted X.. with longtubes and more than a 1" drop you will scrape a lot.

Try www.shox.com for the bilsteins.

i say if you wanna get the bullit suspension get different shocks than the tokikos that come with it. they handle good while they are fine but like after 2 years say hello to new shocks and struts cause they will blow eventually.

If I had a choice of suspension parts I would go Steeda G-Trac all day long... maybe that's just me though.

ebay. type in mustang bilstein. LT's later will scrape if you go any lower. i still say bullitt kit.

Where did you get that info from.. just curious if there is any backing so i know when to look for issues.

MM for everything. Period. Subframes, LCAs, Sway bars, and panhard + torque arm would give u fatty grip for those launches.

Another question: what about the tokico kits? the HP series that come with the springs? anybody know much about them?!

I Installed the Ford c-springs and am very happy with there performance over stock they still give me drivability to avoid bottoming out on speed bumps and clearing parking stops. Here is a pic so you can see where c-springs will drop your cars stance to.

so what is the difference between getting shocks and struts and getting coilovers? What exactly are coilovers???? (are they just springs?) I got all confused when looking for the right suspension myself.

why do some shocks and stuts say they are for lowered cars? can you not use a standard size strut and shock with some lowering springs?
