I say FRPP uppers, Steeda/MM lowers, and Steeda/H&R springs.

Weight transfer will help you out a lot and is especially essential to coupes.

I would put drag springs and shocks/struts on it to aid in this transfer. You don't want it lowered, if you buy stiff lowering springs, as they will only make your traction concerns worse.

Relocate the battery to the trunk to help weight distribution.

Buy stiffer bushings for the stock arms (seeing as how you are on a limited budget). Although, leave the stock rubber bushings on the upper diff ears to avoid wind up/binding when the rear pitches forward under load.

Since you have a welder, I would weld some steel plates across the arms to reinforce their stamped construction ... this will also add a little weight to the rear.

You don't want the rear too stiff, but stiff enough to keep the tread patch in firm contact with the road and shocks with the ability to rebound when compressed.

Lastly buy a pair of good tires.

Seems everyone likes Lakewood 90/10s for the front and 50/50s for the rear.

Use the Eibach drag launch kit. I use the strange strutts cuz they are cheap and work well on and off road. Buy cheap ebay arms. Use the Load jacker or whatever they are called rear lowers that have the height adjustable pads.
