hey iam looking inot upgrading my front suspension and looking at going to a tubular front end with coilovers. I was wondering do i have to do a caster camber plates at first or can i make it by with stock plates for a month or two? The car is a 86 5.0 gt.

Actually it doesn't, it depends on how badly you want coilovers. If you get a tubular K but re-use the stock arms so that you retain the stock modified macpherson strut setup, then yes, it depends on how low you go. However, with coilovers c/c plates are a must due to the relocation of load from the spring perches (which were designed to hold the weight of the nose) to the strut mount plate (which wasn't).

you will break the stock plates with coil overs you will break aluminum c/c plates with coilovers remember that with coils the entire weight of the car is on the c/c plates, were as before the spring held up the lions share of the weight. the ONLY way to go is to call,run, or browse over to maximum motorsports and have them help you, they know their stuff weather you are goinf for a drag setup or a handling setup, there k members and plates and coilovers are the best in the biz, do not go cheap on this stuff or you will regret it

reinforce the strut towers with some steel plate, end of strength problem.
