Strange situation.
Got me mind screwed.
Went down last night to try and figure out the problem.
1st of all the fans are wired correctly.
When you start the car the fans come on.
They stay on until the car reaches operating temperature, then they turn off, and stay off until I kill the engine.
Let the temperature go up to about 2/3rd on the gauge before shutting it down.
Then after turning the ignition switch back on—without starting it—the fans start back up, and I think they would run until they drain the battery.
Backwards from what should be happening.
Please help—anyone that has a clue?

Nothing comes with those fans. Controller is optional.

I see a new controller in your future.

On a serious note, you might want to research the brand. If it's Derale, which is likely, contact them with your symptoms. They are very helpful and knowledgeable.

After rereading LMR ‘s reply all they mentioned was returning the controller switch.
Nothing about sending a new one.
Meantime I’m sitting on my rear wanting to finally drive the car.
Thinking about bypassing the controller.

Put the stock clutch fan and shroud back on.
The stock fan is reliable and effective.

If you really want electric fans or fan, use a better controller and a real ford fan.

Agreed those sve fans pull about 1800 cfm all together. Think the stock fan does better than that. Plus lmr is selling contour fans now

This is Brian's car with the FK-35, S/N #1. I have S/N #2.
Home

BTW, if you have the LMR fan I think you have (the one with the straight blades), it's a joke.
You want the Ford Contour dual fan or the Lincoln Mark VIII fan.

If you want the link to the US patent, here it is.
United States Patent: 7759950

I have the SVE dual fans.
Should have ask you all more questions before buying.
They seem to do a great job until they decide to shut off.

Live & learn.
I wrote the Mustang electric fan handbook, about 25 years ago.
It was on my website. After the 3rd website shutdown, it was too much trouble to move it to a 4th one.

I did testing for DCC before he released it for production.
If you do order from him, realize it's a 1-man operation, i.e. designer, builder, tester, shipper, etc.
Don't expect instant response.

Here's the Contour fan. DCC used to sell these with the controller mounted, wired, ready to go with the plastic shroud tabs cut off.

I do appreciate this information.
In the meantime I think I’m gonna go ahead and order the Derale with the radiator probe..
I would love to be able to drive it before snow starts flying..
Do you think that is a good controller?

You want me to search for the one you're considering?
I am not a mind reader.
You'll have to give me a hyperlink to the controller.
