Hey guys, just was thinking, is it possible to replace the standard, I beleive 8.75'', N/A clutch with the 2.3T clutch? If so, what's got to be done to get it in there. I'm pretty sure the SVO/TC clutch was 9.5''?

The point as you so call it, is when I get ready to do the 2.3T swap, the turbo clutch will already be in place and that's one less thing I'll have to worry about. Running that stock T5 and 8.75'' clutch combo's not a good idea on the turbo motor afterall. I don't think I have much to worry about when it comes to that T5, but that 8.75'' clutch will bite the dust the first time I would lean hard on the gas with that 2.3T.

Oh I see, didn't know you were going turbo. Are you going to keep the stock 7.5 rear end in there? Can these hold up to a 2.3T?

I have a friend w/ a turbo 2.3 and a n/a flywheel and clutch. The clutch had about 100k on it before he went turbo'd, been over a year and it's still going strong and he dogs the stew out of it. He may find this thread and speak up.

btw, my SVO and many many other svo's are now 20 years old and still going strong on their original 7.5" rear. So are many older 5.0's that have been modded. I wouldn't worry for the rear end.

Ahem! It had 125k and I do beat the **** out of it.
Funny that 5th gear went out before the clutch.
