What do you mean by "custom made"? Are you using a stock Mustang front nose? Even the aftermarket noses will accept a stock Mustang hood. Why not go with a SVO type hood (scoop is center mounted vice off-center)...are these hoods non-functional? I only ask and I have never looked into purchasing one. To each there own...but I would hate to see a good SVO hood butchered when there are other options.

One option that has not been discussed is purchasing an aftermarket SVO nose (produced using original Ford tooling) and adding the fiberglass SVO hood (stock replacement for the steel SVO hood). You would have to modify the front of your fenders a little, but from my understanding it is not all that difficult. This option would give you the SVO look without butchering original SVO parts.

The cobra R svo hood was made for 87-93 front clip and they make it for all the way up to brand new.

I do own one and it looks pretty good with a saleen body kit.

Actually the term more air would mean "Compressed Air" Which is hotter air....
Like stinger said the hood scoop does NOTHING to feed air into the engine for combustion, it simply blows air over the intercooler to help cool off that "Compressed Air"
