swapping 86 quarter glass for 87-93 (searched)

They should bolt in just fine when you remove the louvers and glass.

Just buy some window adhesive and clean the surfaces well before bolting on your new ones. But don't tighten the bolts too tight!

Also, have a buddy help you remove the old windows by having one of you inside the car and one outside the car. Use a thin peice of wire to slice through the old window adhesive in a back in forth motion. Do not try to just pry the old window out with a screwdriver or it will break.

Good Luck.

Yes, you will have a gap between the 86 inner panels and the new windows. One guy I read about left his 86 windows in place and just installed the 87 ones on top of them, of course after he removed all the trim and the louvers.

Good luck!

was it noticable that he left the 86 windows?

b/c if its not then that is what i'll do.

I don't recall what all he said, it was on a thread on here or on Corral several months ago. If the 87 windows are tinted, I don't think it would be too noticable. It shoud be easy enough to try and if you don't like it, then pop out the old window.
