Quick question for anyone. I know the two switches on the clutch pedal in a 88 Mustang GT are the neutral safety anc clutch switch. But what is the switch over under the quadrant. When the clutch is not depressed, there's contact. When the clutch is pressed, the switch is released. Anyone know?

I will try and some more research on it. I'm active duty army, so I don't have alot of time to work on it, but I get every minute I can out there. But I took these pictures. Now everyone keeps saying that there are only two wires running to the safety switch, but I'm seeing more than that. Two plugs on the clutch pedal arm, and one switch by the quadrant. I'm not getting power to the solenoid from my ignition and I'm trying to determine if the issue is my ignition switch or safety switch. I'm sure someone out there has went through this before. Can anyone clarify these switches for me?

Finally found the culprit! Bad clutch switch! Ran a jumper from the ignition straight to the solenoid, and the car fired right up. Ran down to AutoZone and picked up a clutch switch, put it and the car starts right up. Thanks for all the replies on this post. Still have lots of wiring to work out. As I said before, when I bought the car the previous owner had started pulling everything out trying to make a strip car. Next major project is to find some 3.73 gears to replace the 4.56 that’s in the rear now.
