I have searched this and I am unable to find any good information. people on here say it is not worth it but dont explain why. My t-5 is on its way out and I have a t-45 sitting in the garage. My guess is the bellhousing being the biggest issue. is there not a solution to this? anyone have a link to someone who has done this?

To the best of my knowledge, it's not possible with any bellhousings that are currently produced. The T-45 bellhousing is attached from inside the bell and the transmission and bellhousing are installed as one unit. Aside from having one available, there's really no good reason to use the T-45. It's about as strong as a T-5 and would need a custom aftermarket bellhousing to work. Wait for Mike (Mustang5L5) to reply to this thread, he'll give you a bunch of info on how to rebuild your T-5, and it can be done on the cheap if you do it yourself.
Goto tremecs website and you can download the entire service manual for the t-5. The T-5 really isnt hard to disassemble and reassemble when you have the SM and access to a press for some bearings, I recently rebuilt mine replaced all synchros and 1st n 2nd slider and trans has been good and I had never been inside any transmission. Just take your time and it can be done for cheap compared to buying even a used one.
I am not worried about rebuilding one. I have seen the video and it looks fairly easy to do. I just have a t45 sitting in my garage that I cant get rid of and wanted to put it to good use. I just didnt want to spend another $300 for a rebuild kit. I guess I am heading that direction anyways. Thanks guys

found this on ebay. seems cheaper than hanlon with same parts. anyone have any opinions. I heard astro was decent from someone on here.

CANT BE DONE,the t45 does not have a removeable bellhousing and part of the reasoning is because the bellhousing is also the front cover of the trans.there is no way to adapt it to a 5.0 and really there would be no reason for any company to ever want to make anything to do such a thing.put the trans you have up on ebay,take the profits and buy a t5

You are right though. The T-45 is designed with an integral bellhousing designed for the 4.6L block...
but there is an adapter plate.
However...i have no idea where to buy this adapter plate nor who makes it...however i've seen it mentioned frequently. So if someone ever discovered who has it...there's your answer.
Or you can rebuild your t-5. It's easy as pie.
Now, that rebuild kit posted is a COMPLETE rebuild kit. it contains new bearings and just about every wearable item possible. Only thing it doesn't contain is hard parts. I can't really say what you need however without knowing what's wrong with your t-5. BEarings rarely fail, so most often you can get away with a cheaper $100 kit that doesn't have bearings in it. If one bearing is bad, it can be bought separately. They are standard Timkin or Federal Mogul bearings available at Autozone. I have the data as to what bearing is what part number if you need it. Just PM me. Usually bearings are replaced if you need to replace an input shaft, or a countergear from blowing up 3rd. The average gears grinding rebuild can get away without it. Often, you only need to replace the blockers for the problematic gear. But like i said, without knowing what is wrong or seeing the carnage, i cant say what to do. I've done $200 rebuilds and then i've done rebuilds that cost one $25 blocker ring and a tube of RTV.
I have far more faith in parts from Hanlon or D&D Motorsports than anything you can get on ebay. Both Hanlon and D&D
are good people and don't sell substandard parts. You may pay a little more, but this isn't about being cheap. It is about
fixing it right one time and then being able to enjoy driving your car.
