Anyone know of a "how to" or write up on how to swap the tailhousing on a t-45.
I am trying to find out how to swap the tailhousing and speedo gear from a Cobra t-45 to a GT t-45. Thanks

You could swap the housing....or you could just relocate/modify your current cross member. It would probably be the easier thing to do?

Tailhousing

thanks for the response man. I would like to keep the Cobra Crossmember the way it is. The location (further rearward that the gt) was selected to move the cg closer to the center for better handling (or so I have read/heard)

more info

"With shifter removed, drive the split roll pin through
shift block with 3/16” punch."

this mean pound on it until it becomes loose?

Use hammer or softhammer?

hammer. Just drive the pin through the bore. You'll see when you get there what you need to do.

Can this pin be reinstalled easily? My T5 in my notch needs to come out because the speedo drive gear on the output shaft moved back and now the speedo don't work. I was just gonna pull the whole trans because the shop who rebuilt it will fix that for free.

It is easy to reinstall as well. Just align the hold in the steel shift block with the hole in the shaft. Use a hammer to tap the rolled pin back in until it is flush...
