I could be wrong but I don't think you will need T-5 Conversion Kit Late Model Bell housing. I assume you are talking about the kit that comes with the bell adapter and the new yoke? From what I have read you don't need that adapter if you converting to the late model bell. Also the new joke is not needed if you already have a C4 auto. You will have to shorten your drive shaft some though. I also read that if you have a C4 auto you can use your old started with the new flywheel as long as it has 157 teeth. The only other thing everyone seems to recommend is an after market shifter like the Pro-5.0 ect. I am not sure if the G-force Trans will come with a shifter or not. I hope I have my facts straight as I will be ordering my parts this winter:D . I hope this helps.

It's been about five years, so my mind could be a little rusty. The only thing I bought was the flywheel, tranny and bell housing together. I was able to use my existing drive shaft. Don't make me lie and tell you the clearance for the drive shaft. I also used my old starter. I invested less than a grand on the whole conversion. Mine was a C=4, then I swapped to a 3 speed (3 different ones) then finally to the T-5. I went to a local mustang graveyard and stole the clutch pedal, rod, and equalizer bar. (one day I will move up to a cable) If you need more info, e-mail me and I should still have some information stored away somewhere.

-G-Force T-5 Tranny

~overkill on a stock/mildly modded 289

-T-5 Conversion Kit Late Model Bellhousing
- JMC Hydrolic Clutch kit

....as you prefer

- T-5 transmission mount
- RPM Transmission crossmember
...IIRC most xmembers come with a new mount, correct me if Im wrong...I think someone reused their C4 mount, IIRC....they appear identical

- 28 spline yoke

...which yoke? The C4 yoke will fit the T-5, they are both 28spl

-28oz flywheel 157 tooth

what do you guys think?

-Starter from '85-'92 mustang 5.0

...your current starter will work fine, save the money

- T-5 bellhousing from 79-93 5.0

...you already listed a bell, you dont need two of them :p

- Clutch kit either from ZOOM or from RAM ...any opinions?

...I have a ZOOM, its ok

-Clutch disc
-Pressure plate
-throw out bearing

- I have the complete pedal assembly

I'll try to dig up my parts list from my conversion in my '67, but the total bill was ~ 800.00. What about a shifter?

-G-Force T-5 Tranny
A T5Z will handle 330lbs of tourque, so unless you plan to build a beast, you are wasting money on the G-Force. Also, I seem to remember the G-Force are noisy due to the pattern used to cut the teeth. This make then stronger, but noisier. May not like the trade off unless you plan for big power. I have a T5Z behind a new 347 from CHP rated at ~400 hp & tourque. No problems yet, but I don't beat on it either.

- JMC Hydrolic Clutch kit
I did this as well and love it once it was bled properly. If you are running or plan to converto to power brakes, you should research as there are fitment issues with the JMC unit. Do a search, tons of threads.

what do you guys think?

This is the same unit I bought and I have an engine vibration - at least I think my mechanic friend and I think it is. Can't say for sure if the FW is the problem, but looking back I wish I would have just spent the extra $100 for the Ford Racing unit. I think I paid $90 for the FW, so I question the accuracy of the balance. I won't know for sure until I swap it out - no sure when I will get to this.

I went with the Ford Racing King Cobra clutch, PP and TO bearing. You will also need the pilot bearing - the newer trans use a roller type.

The only other item you will need is the engine block plate that goes between the engine and flywheel. I don't think you can reuse the one from your auto trans. May want to confirm this. You should be good to go with the speedo cable from your auto trans assuming it's in good shape. You will love the swap! Hit the link in my sig for pics of my swap in my 68.
