Stainless Braided hoses have AN fittings that screw on to each other. That is the reason you would have to flare it at a special angle (for AN fittings) to make it work and not leak.

You can get a 90-degree fitting at your local parts store. They usually are brass and you might have to piece 3 things (angle fitting and 2 male 3/8” ends) to work if they don’t have one ready made.

Think of the 90-degree fitting as an “L” shaped fitting but generally equal on both sides.
Look at how your stock line enters your engine compartment from the driver side inner fender.
