T stat gasket before or after the T stat

Im replacing my t stat ' the old 1 that was on there was right worn down and did not get a good look at it , soo do i put the gasket on then the tstat or tstat then gasket'

should i use some sealer for it to?

yeah use sealer just not ALOT as it will just do more harm than good. You want the spring part inside the intake and put the gasket between the thermastat and the intake

yeah put the T-stat in the housing first, then put the gasket on, then slap it on the intake.
