This might be a rediculous question, but I was thinking that it would be kinda cool if T Tops could be installed on our cars. Has anyone heard of this, and is it even possible...? Thanks in advance?

What about a targa top? I do not think that it would look dated for our cars! I think it would be a head turner, and it would be nice to have the option of a hard top that would be tinted glass.... Or, to have the wind in your face. Now, I am not a fan of conv. but, the idea of having a removable hard top would be sick! So, Targa?

I would rather see you trade in your Mustang for a Camaro than hack up your Mustang. Blasphemy.

I had a T-top in a 1976 Mustang II. I loved the car and the T-top but it leaked. You couldn't even take it through a car wash without a problem.

I have always been a ford truck man and a pontiac Car man. just the way it is. I wish the mustang would come with T tops. I dont care where the trend started, they look nice and are very functional. I wish i could get some T tops in my 2011 mustang. I was actually dead set on a 1999-2002 WS6 T/A before the 2011 mustang came out. I cant wait to drive the car, but still wish it had T tops.

Had an 86 w/t-tops and loved them. I never thought of it for our cars;might look cool. I'd like to see a photoshop of it anyway.

My first mustang was an '86 GT 5-spd with t-tops!!!!! I loved that car. Cruising to the beach with the tops off was awesome fun! Had alot of good times with that car. Never leaked either if you can believe it! I don't know if they would look good on the new cars or not, but I'd like to see a photoshop or something as well. However, I don't see them making a come back from the factory. I'm sure structural rigidity issues would come into play. A novel idea though.

Then how do you get the structural rigidity in the verts?
I like t-tops, and in modern cars I think they would be a lot more practical and reliable than in the cars of the 80's early 90's that had them. I had a 1991 Pontiac Trans-Am GTA with T-Tops and the experience driving with them out is cool as hell. What sucks is they leaked. My Current T/A doesn't have T-tops, but if it was an option on my '10 GT I would have gone for them.

While they do put bracing on 'verts to improve their rigidity, they are never as solid as a coupe. T-tops on the old mustangs were never as rigid as the coupes. The flexing is part of the reason why old mustangs with t-tops used to leak so often. I had subframes on my old t-top mustang & that no doubt helped alot. I also think that t-tops won't make a comeback mainly b/c people don't want to mess with taking them off, storing & secruing them in the car, then reversing the process every time they go somewhere. I wouldn't mind, but I think a majority of people would. I would love to have a '98-'02 WS6 6-spd w/t-tops as a second car.
