I have a T5 from a 4 cylinder that I am going to put into my 5.0. Don't dog me on this, it's a SSP coupe that I am putting back to stock and will not be getting beat on. The tranny is perfect except the previous owner did not grease the bearing rertainer and it's now damaged from the throwout bearing. I noticed on summit they list 2 different bearing retainers, which one do I need??? I am thinking I heard that there were differences between world class and non world class. the trans came from a 93 model car.

grease bearing retainer??? never heard of that. the stock ones are aluminum (junk) anyways and always need to be replaced in a high mileage tranny.

I just never had luck with the aluminum one regardless. Never had issues with the steel ones. anything wears over time. I guess when I pull the motor I might put a little grease on there. I would be afraid of it slinging on the clutch though.
