Hey y'all, just been debating wether or not I can use my old T5 in my 99GT automatic. The T5 came from a 90GT. I think I need to get a 4.6 bellhousing, clutch, and other gear, but will it / can I make it work? Don't know about the speedo cable also, there may be a problem.

Reason for doing this: I have the 90 T5 just sitting in storage, and I would love to swap for a sticky-shift.

Any comments appreciated! Thanks.

Sell the T5 and use the money to buy a used T45. The T45 will not only bolt in without hassle, but has stronger internals than your '90 T5. You're just asking for a headache you don't need.

Either that, or sell off the T5 and put the money you get for it towards a converter and a shift kit for your '99.......then serve those stick shift cars your lunch!!!

what are you plans for the car? if you mainly drag race it, do the Jerry Mod, 4.10s, tranny cooler and converter.

If you just want the fun factor, check out www.stangparts.com they have a COMPLETE swap from 4R70W to T3650.

http://stangparts.com/home.cfm?section=products/index should be on page 5 of the transmission section....
