I searched the forum and have not seen answer to this. I have a 66 coupe and wanted to know how much lower the trans sits/driveshaft drops with this swap? I bought a t5 swap crossmember but am concerned with drivehaft to exhaust crossover clearance. I have about 3/4 inch now with my toploader and am concerned if I am going to have to cut out the crossover and weld holes shut if this sits much lower. Any advice?

I did not notice any change when I swapped in the T-5 for ther old toploader. I have Doug's Tri-Ys that fit snup up near the old toploader cross-member and the fit with the T-5 is about the same. I have an X-pipe (built when the car had the toploader) and it's fine too. I don't think you will see much change in tranny position. BTW, I used the Modern Driveline cross member for the T-5.

The 3550/TKO swap lowers the tranny tail significantly, which is perhaps the source of your concern. The T-5 is much different.
