I have a WC T5 that I am rebuilding. I got a borg warner rebuild kit that came with 3 input shaft shims they are all I smidge to small to take up the end play in my shaft. So what I did was gringed one down to .006 and doubled it up with the other one which is .013 thick to make .020. Is this O.K. that I did this. I know you can double up the shims on the main shaft or output shaft but I have been told that you cant do that on the input shaft but I dont see a difference. Can someone please give me some insight on this before I drop my motor and tranny back in the car in about another hour. I dont want to have to go back thru all this again if its not going to work right the way I got it.

I called hanlon on this for myself, as none of the three fit my application either. It appears that tremec has stopped producing all but three of those shims, so you're kinda ****ed.

because of this, hanlon gets a bunch of the thickest of those shims that comes in that kit, and has them milled down to all different sizes. I'd suggest taking the thickest shim and mill it to what you need, or call hanlon, as they sell all different sizes that they've had milled, and they're only like $10 or so, they had the exact size I needed.
