T5 trans fluid type?

hey guys I finally found a new trans and I am installing it in my car tomorrow. The only confusion I have had is that I cant find a straight answer of type of fluid it takes. Mercon, I,II,IV? I just want to put the ford recommended fluid back in so I dont have any problems.

Basically any auto fluid, I just put mechron in mine

Mine has the cheapest part store atf in it and shifts like butter!

That's not the Ford recommended fluid. Tremec in the past has recommened against it in the T-5 due to potential incompatiblity with the synchro blocker ring linings. Of course, many people run the fluid with no issue.
