My transmission developed a whine after the last time I had it at the drag strip, last season. It was built by Astro years ago, so I called them and asked him about it. His response kind of put it in perspective- there are literally dozens of things that could cause these transmissions to whine. Bent input shaft, worn teeth, trashed bearings, etc. I pulled mine apart, replaced all the bearings, inspected all of the gears, and I couldn't find anything visually obvious. SO I put it back together and have just been living with the noise. It's not as bad as @RacEoHolic330 video above, but it's definitely there.
