I have a 90 5.0 GT with a factory tach. My problem is that i want to install just a shift light, not the tach with the light. I want to be able to use the factory tach. Will that work? and how would i go about doing that?
Lets say u went w/ autometer, they just shiftlights, so check their site for a tech/faq section. Or you could always just email em. I dont know how u would do it w/o some kind of module that utilizes RPM/voltage activation.
....and understand that the factory tachs are notoriously inaccurate - so if you set the shift light for say 5500 rpm, and the tach is reading 6500 when the light comes on, don't be surprised.
