Tach not working properly

My tach went out some time ago. At first it would not do anything and then sometimes the needle would just flip all the way to the right once I floored it.

Is this a common problem?? Could it just be a sensor or something simple hopefully??

yea try replacing your crankshaft position sensor





no jk... the ignition module sends the rpm to the tach, so if ur having some driveability issues as well id look into replacing that... i think its about 57 dollars?
