A buddy of mine has a 99 GT. He bought it with an Autometer tach already installed. When the car is idling the needle is all over the place, it stays close to true but it "shivers" and is not accurate at all revving or cruisin. So he bought the Tach Ready box from Dallas Mustang. i installed it for him and the tach shoots up to about 9K when you start and then at idle it reads around 5K, with a light tap of the throttle the tach maxes out. I know the box is connected to the correct wires and I have good connections at all wires and also the tach has a good ground and power source. The instructions also say there will be a green light on on the tach ready box when it is hooked up correctly and that is on. Can anyone give me some insight on whats goin on with this thing? Also is there any way to hook the tach up and have it function right without any special add ons?
Also I'm not sure if this could be the problem or not but it's got an S-Trim on it with a Vortech chip, not sure if that may be messin with it or not. Thanks in advance for any help i can get with this
