Tachometer advice.

I am looking for an aftermarket Tach to mount on my dash. I can't easily see the stock Ford tach location when I need to for racing. I am not familiar with how an aftermarket tach works on an electronic ignition like my 05 GT.

In a distributor ignition it is just hook a wire to the points terminal on the distributor. This car has no distributor so how do you hook one up to an electronic ignition like ours?

Do I need some kind of sending unit? Adapter?

Any information would be appreciated... thanx.

To answer my own question, I do need an adapter to add an aftermarket Tach , a SunPro in this case. I ordered it all from Summit las night.
