I have a set of LX tail lamps from my old car and I've already pulled the cheezegraders off my GT.
I was thinking since I have a black car that smoked LX tailamps would look great because I've seen it before and it looked something wicked. I've also seen a crappy job and it made me want to puke. I do not like puking. I do not want those cheezy covers, nor do I want them so dark I get pulled over, nor do I want to buy new one's, just a light tint on my existing LX's. I have heard there is a good brand of smoked clearcoat for plastic. What steps to take to make them really shine like factory, but be dark.
Once I get this done I need to attach. When I got them long, long ago for my old car I used th supplied black sticky stuff to make it stick, did alright, but not great. I read from a search that using black RVT is good, but any other options? I could 3M it but then it's permenent, as in you won't get them off in one piece if your live depended on it, permenent.
Oh, and finally, the lights themselves. LEDs aren't that expensive anymore and can really put out some light, take little energy, less heat, and last a long time. Since the tint on the tails might make it dimmer. I hate when I see these "hotrods" where you can barely see the tailamps at night, just dangerous and a red flag to get a set of blue lights in my rear view mirror and I do not like blue lights in my rear view mirror because it hurts my wallet. Do the LED's look alright and do they put out more light?
