I just got a set of Moss Mustang tail light bezels. The ones I ordered were suppose to be ABS plastic and did not need to be painted but the ones I received are acrylic and will have to be painted. It says no prepping needed, just clean them and paint. What I was wondering, do you think that Dupli-Color bumper coating paint would work good and hold up? Also do you think it would match the honeycomb panel that I will get in the future? I'm pretty sure they do not have to be painted. I wasn't sure if it would be worth the money to have a profesional paint shop to paint something so simple.

I have the honeycomb panel and it is great. It DOES NOT have to be painted. Which tail light bezels did you get? If the advertisements said no painting, I would call and question the vendor.

I ordered the Moss Mustang ABS tail light bezels but the ones I received were made of acrylic and have to be painted. They looked like the same material that smoked tail light covers are made of.

supposedly they can be painted without scuffing before paint. i personally have not done this, but i have seen it done with success. clean with alcohol and possibly a paint adhesion promoter for plastic (not the same as the adhesion promoter for double sided tape).

I would check around town for a real paint shop where the autobody guys get their stuff. Not Auto Zone or Ace Hardware. The guys at a pro paint shop will fix you up with the stuff you need to do that job.

I read up on the Dupli-color bumper paint and decided to go ahead and paint them. They came out really good. I gave them 2-3 light coats. Got them installed and happy with them. Now to see how they hold up.
