Taillight Compatability

I have a 1986 Mustang GT and the rear light are cracked badly, I was wondering if the taillight housings from a 87-93 mustang lx would fit in place of my cracked ones? Thanks for any help.

Yes, Any of the taillights from 83-93 will interchange with no mods at all

Correct. Man did I spend a lot of time making the 87-93 lights work in my 81. PITA. I spent hours trimming out metal, and making new metal and cutting and welding it to fit. WOW! I spent all day and it looked as if I did nothing.

Luckily you don't have to do that.
