taillights quit working

I put in new guages last week and my taillights quit working. I have turn signals and brake lights just no taillights. Can anyone tell me where to start looking and for which wire to be disconnected?

did you check the fuse?

Also check the dimmer switch. Mine acts up and if the dash lights go out when it is on full illumination or close to it, the tail lights go out also. The power to them must be routed through the dimmer circuit also. I have to work with the dimmer to make them work again!

My taillights quit working once and I ended up fixing the problem by replacing the headlight switch.

mine did that ...check your bulbs ...just my tailights were out and it was the filiment in both bulbs ..replaced them everything worked fine
