Is there a difference in sound between the Lx 2.5" Tailpipes and the Gt Tailpipes. Might sound like a stupid question but I need to know! ..Thanks

I dont think there is much sound difference, maybe just a little louder with the LX pipes, but not by much. Both will make a big difference over dumps from in the car. I couldn't stand dumps, too loud in the car.

GT tailpipes are not chrome, they are steel. They look bad, but you can't really see them.

There is mainly just a visual difference. I bought the GT tailpipes, because I had to.

If I had a GT I would dump my exhaust. Be sure you know someone in the inspection business though, because at least here in Nc exhaust must exit completely from the side or at the back of a vehicle.

Actually... The tail pipes on LX's are not Chrome, but polished stainless steel. Mine are still shiny like the day it came off the production line!

Lol, my '88's were still shiny too. I wish i kept them but i put a Flowmaster cat-back on with Stainless steel tailpipes. They look great.

1 more reason why LX > GT

as long as the dumps are mandrel-bent i don't think any sound difference would be noticeable.

You can get GT pipes in chrome. It's pretty much a waste of money, as you stated.

As for the sound, some people say the GT's exhaust is louder in the car because they point down.
