I am trying to replace turn signal switch in the steering column - a little plastic part that is broken. Is there any special trick to be able to remove the old part? it seems to be riveted to the whole assembly, which I cannot get to in an easy way. There is also a little hole in the steering column, accesible from outside. What is it for? Can someone help?

If you are trying to repair it, I think it still has to come out. You have to cut the wires under the column or extract them from the connector. Here are a couple pics:

This shows a ’68 column with the switch removed. There are three screws holding it in.

This shows the hole in the ’68 and the small bolt that came out that holds the two column pieces together:

This is a ’65 switch. You can see the three screws.

Is this an original Cluster that would work in my 1987 Convertible 2.3L? Turn signals work, but not correctly.
