DR:
Winner: Mike Aldwart
R/U: ?

As far as the ones I dont know, and the winners in the other classes, Im not sure, I spent more time wrenching (even drove first round of qualifying) and running around the pits than watching the racing!

just talked to Dennis, said all the factory guys had to wiegh 3300#'s :notnice: !and probably the reason he broke his transmission,
can't believe he changed it between rounds.
he still managed a 11.80@118 at 3340 ! :nice:

Eric mentioned he helped change his tranny in 30 minutes....pretty impressive for not having a lift around!

I know I never got a chance to run in S/S. By the time I realized the thermostat went in the car and changed it, they D/Q'ed me since I didn't make a qualifying pass. I realize this is standard protocol, but seeing as it wasn't a money event and nothing was at stake, it kind of pissed me off.

And what was up with the S/S winner? How was that car a street car?!

Its kind of tuff doing those things becuase there is always going to be somebody fast..... everybody uses different types of heads, cams, power adders Tasca day and other smaller events like that are meant to fit the majority of cars around.... I'm sure all the other cars that ran 9's probably had something that others felt are not related to a street car but thats the nature of the game... I know there is supposed to be some rule changes for next year but what is not known yet.... what is it that you would like to see change?

I would limit blower size I dont consider a YS Trim or a F1-R a street blower.

How about the fact that they didn't even check to see if the car was registered.

Dealer plates should not be allowed

Weight breaks for stock block

And they also didn't add weight to those with intercoolers/aftercoolers.

This is just a few ideas, dont get me wrong we love the class, its alot better than what Fun Ford has to offer. But after seeing that YS car wipe the floor to everyone, lets make it alittle more competitive.

I understand those points.... a series up at new england would be great but they already have problems with quikstreet up there and the MHRA used to run up there but also had to move on becuase of support and track deals... as for the rules ... it will be tuff no matter what... look at nmra real street.... s trims no intercoolers, stock cam and no porting on heads or intakes ( can only use sreet heat, performer and others like this) and these cars are going 9.60-9.80's theres always going to be a few that will get the car to faster and work better..

I can say the Stock class was slower than the Factory class, and a few of the FS racers were thinking of running Stock, but without a weight break for the iron heads, they decided to stick with FS!

The SS winning car didnt seem to be a street car, but I know the runner up car is an all motor 310, which is pretty impressive how far he went!

All in all I am almost sure the rules are being looked at now, and will most likely change next year!

I didn't think anyone else ran 9's in SS?

And I understand what Stroked86 is saying, but that car had no plates and clearly was not a street car by any definition. I know for a fact Mike Aldwart, who won the Outlaw class, could have changed his belt, added some ballast, and run in SS too (his car runs 8.3's), but he would rather compete against real competition for his vehicle. If your car is too slow for a drag class, don't dress it up for a street event.

our car ran 9.8 in the 1st round, we werent licensed for 9's so we slowed it down during time trails, we ran 11.5@64mph and 11.2@75mph. 1st round we let it have it and he spun to a 9.8 on ET Streets we figured we were gonna get booted. We seen Karl blow his car up and figured we would try to go all the way,Then we lost the alternator belt during the burnout in round 2 and we ran 10.3 and we couldnt get a replacement belt. So next guy Joe Correria got a bye

This car is a street car, got an S-trim running 8-9lbs of boost

I think blower size would of kept the class more competitive
