Hey all just wanted to know if the taurus alternator is the same as the 3g? i saw some pics and tried to compare. They look the same to me!!!
Also is the alternator the same on a mark VII?
I think my external regulator is going. Was coming home from seeing my daughter in my svo and it looked like i would flash my lights once in awhile..

I was told the 95 and up taurus has the 3g and the other one you said I think it is but not positive. There is an article in www.carbdford.com in the tech section it tells you more.

there are 2 different sizes of 3G on the tuarus. it appears that the 3.0 taurus is the one with the right alternator... but that is just what I noticed while shopping in the j-yard.

Bhuff you are right there is two different sizes of 3g's on the Taurus. I am currently running one and the hardest part of the swap was grinding the bracket the wiring is very easy. The difference is one of them is 7" from mounting hole to mounting hole and the other is 6" you will need the 6" for the 2.3's you will know the smaller one's when you see them the mounting holes are right next to the case.

is there any alternator that will bolt right into my 93 lx ??
