As the subject line says, anyone heard otherwise about them going out of business?

I still have no response to my charge back, and if anyone has gone through the process with their bank, could you enlighten me on how this whole thing works?

Sorry this isn't exactly tech talk, but not everyone goes in there, and I was really hoping to get some answers.

Disputing your debit card should be the same as disputing your credit card. Call the issuing bank, tell them you want to dispute a charge. They SHOULD issue a temporary credit and then send you a form to fill out. You fill it out (they might actually do that over the phone), and then the company has a chance to respond. You keep the credit until its resolved, and then a permanent credit is issued (unless you lose, which isnt likely).

I did the paper work last week on the 9th, but no credit was ever given. I haven't heard a word about it, and I the lady at the bank branch (Compass Bank) wasn't sure how it even worked.

All she did was give me the paper that the main branch faxed to her, I filled them out, and she faxed them back.

It was was a Visa Check card, so hopefully it works just like a credit card, and I have the protection.

Thanks for your reply though.

No one has heard anything new on TCP??

I would think they would say something on their site about it, but they do not as far as I can see, and their site is still up with prices and all. I hope they are still going because I wouldn't mind getting something from them after I save enough $$$ for their stuff.

First, if it was a Visa debit card, where the transaction was processed through the Visa system as a "charge", then the transaction is covered by standard Visa protection. For chargeback situations, there is a time frame in which you can dispute charges (I think its 60 days). Any attempt to dispute charges outside of the time frame is not supported by Visa and is strictly a matter of working with your bank and the merchant that charged your card. Typically, if the chargeback is done within the time frame, you should get provisional credit withing a few business days, or at least get it completely resolved within a week or 2. Though, now that I think about it, I think there are specific time frames for that stuff too, which may be up to 30 days.

I know this stuff from working customer service in a call center for a decently large credit union in Seattle for the last 4 years. Contact your bank and they should be able to give you the current status of your chargeback.

Good luck.

I had a lame charge go on for Directv Sunday ticket once. Seems they automatically renew if you were a subscriber last year. Took me 30 days to get the temp credit, and another 30 to get the thing resolved.
