i want to put a k-member in my fox and i was looking at upr and maximum motorsporsts stuff.

I would like to do a kit but the prics difference between upr and mm is huge. i know the mm comes with the caster camper plates, adjustable tie rods link, and all the swaybay stuff but why such a huge price difference. i won't need any of the sway bar stuff because i don't have a sway bar. also noticed they offer two different types of bushings, what are the differences in the two?

would also like to hear from those who have either of these kits.

i was think about getting the chrome moly k member from upr keeping weight in mind. but it will have a big block sitting in it. what do you guys think?

What exactly are you doing with the car?
Very few k members offer additional strength, the ones that are known to are the MM and the griggs, but they don't offer much weight savings, and they cost significantly more.

From what i've seen too, other than the 2 i just listed, the rest seem to be very inconsistant with their fitment.

I'd use ever dime i had for the project elsewhere, then when the car is done, and you still feel you want one, that's when i would drop the money.
There really is little to no benefit for one on a street car, the factory k member is plenty strong, it's just not the prettiest.

it won't see the street. going to be a drag only car. I was hoping the the k member would give me some weight loss while making it a little easier to access things

UPR one has been working well for me. Apparently it doesn't offer additional strength, but it's obviously significantly lighter and it's getting the job done.

Since it will be drag only, you are good to go with most brands.
Don't get the MM or griggs though, no weight savings there.
Drag only, is one of the few good reasons to actually get a tubular k member.
Determine a few things before you purchase.
Are you going to use tubular A arms?
Coil overs?
Sway bar?
Do you think the car is going to go wheels up and land hard? I ask this because if you crash land a car with a tubular k member, there's a good chance you bend it.

This way you make sure to get a k that works with what you need.

that depends on the struts... i know plenty of guys who put them on the bumper and havent bent one... headers yea... k member... nope...

AJE is another option. I've read where theirs weighs close to 20lbs. Give or take few.

good point. tubular A arms - yes, coil overs - yes, sway bar - no.

do you think the chrome moly one would be good from upr. thinking as far as weight goes, that sounds like the best option

i still have to check some of the other's that you guys mentioned

UPR here, works fine for me, mostly a street car.

you should really do a search though, this topic has been beaten to **** and just about every one of these threads turns into a pissing match

I cant believe im saying this, dont get MM, it pushes the wheels froward and its substantially heavier than the other stuff, if i was gonna go with a drag only k member i would go Team z

How many people run the Team Z K Member and would it be worthy enough for a street app.?

yes. your gonna be suprised when you take the stock one out though, its really not that heavy. Unless you have clearance issues or the motor is out of the car, to me a k-member isnt really worth it

few other advantages to the aftermarket K members other then weight...

the controls arms on a stocker dont drop freely... the tubular ones do...

as you said clearance...makes header install and removal much easier

I realize that but really, for the ammount of work involved its not worth the gain, if i was to do it again i'd probly just get the a-arms and coilover kit
