Hey,
I was thinking about getting a teardrop hood scoop for my 67 coupe (black, still in restortion at the moment). it would be high gloss black, hood pins, and maybe a boss 302 style hood tach. and i have a little.. hood project that i'm working on (not saying anything ).

Anyway, i was thinking about having it molded on so its smooth, and then having some stainless steel rivits put in.

What do you guys think? any other hood scoop suggestions? thanks

This kind of stuff is purely personal preference. If you like it then go for it. BUild the car for yourself and not for anyone else. You see, I don't like any kind of hood scoop except the ones that were factory for the year/make.....but that is merely my opinion and for my cars....and I don't think you should be discouraged by something that is my opinion. I would never insult you for your choice and if done tastefully and with quality your hoodscoop should be nice.

hehe, don't worry about me doing things purly on other peoples opinions. if i did that i would never have a mustang. hell, i wouldn't be anywhere close to who i am if other people had their way.

i'm just seeing what other people think of my idea is all. i'm not 100% sure thats what i'm gonna do, but having some feedback is always a good thing. even if it is bad.

Teardrop hoods have to be in my Opinion the coolest badazz looking hood out there. Just make sure you got the power to back up that kind of statement. number 2 would have to be the Boss 429 scoop, which goes without saying anything. Your Idea sounds pretty cool. Good luck with it.

not really sure how any other scoop besides a Cobra Jet hoodscoop or a Teardrop would look on 65-68 Stangs
Growing up in a house where Dad always had a Mustang, coolest thing was, he had the only Mustang around for quite some distance that had a teardrop hoodscoop. However his stood out a little more since he had a black 65 with the bone white scoop. I say TearDrop you'll stand out from the crowd, you may want to paint it though

Had one on my 65 coupe and loved it. I needed some extra clearance for my 408 Now I am trying to squeeze the motor under a GT350 scoop in my fastback...its real tight!
