Reflashing is setting the computer back to stock. Like wystang said I think it is for the newer computers not ours. And this isnt really what your looking for anyway since you want a custom tune for all the new parts you have on there.

I agree with the others when using the word reflash I think about Stangs that came after ours.

You usually don't use THAT word when talking about our pcm's. If you have a chip or tuner interface in the service port of our pcm you can change the values in its cal file. If you remove either of those the pcm defaults back to its original cal file.

Sometimes all these words can be comfusering.

A while back I told someone on this site he would pick up a nice gain from an intake and he replied back with question marks and those little symbols that made me think he didn't believe or agree with me. I have come to figure out the ricer boys call a piece of pipe an intake.......Is That Right ???

The reflash is only for OBDII. We're OBDI, but some people think we're OBDII since alot of Ford vehicles went to that in 94-95.

This is some info on the SCT Xcalibrator, wich is a reflashing device.

The XCalibrator is the most flexible Ford PCM reflashing tool in the world. Now ALL 1996 - 2005 OBD-II Ford Vehicles can be custom tuned with a single device. SCT is the first aftermarket company to have custom tuning available for the all-new 2005 Mustang. Also available for the first time anywhere is the custom tuning for the widely popular 04 – up F150 truck and 03 – 05 F250 – F550 6.0L Diesel. No more sending your PCM to your SCT dealer for reflashing.

The XCalibrator will also work with the SVT Focus, Lincoln LS, 00 – up Thunderbird and the new 205 mph Ford GT. These vehicles no longer have a J3 port connector in the back of the PCM/EEC to except a chip. The newer type PCMs can’t be access the same way the older EEC IV/Vs were. To access these required special equipment to read and reflash each type of PCM. The XCalibrator will do them all, ECC V, PTEC or the new Power PC Processor.

This flash device is a small hand held box that can hold up to 3 custom program files plus save your factory file so you can restore your vehicle back to stock at a later time.

To program your vehicle you just plug it into your diagnostic port and follow a very simple sequence using 5 LEDs and 2 buttons. Unlike the Micro Tuner it has no LCD screen. Each device is VIN locked to the vehicle it programs just like the Micro Tuner.

SEE WHAT I MEAN ABOUT ..................................COMFUSERING

I was not saying any of the things above about you.

First off I tried to agree with the others about their statement of our pcm does not get reflashed.

Next paragraph I tried to point out that the word reflash is not usually associated with our pcm's. Maybe I should have used words something like these so as not to offend you ..........when one hears the word reflash, he usually thinks about the Stangs after 1995

In that same paragraph I also threw in that little tidbit of info to show that you did not have to reflash our pcm to go back to its original program as delivered from Ford.

In reality you reflash the newer pcm's to change the values in their program.

As for the last paragraph I thought if anybody was the butt of that little story it was ME and how you ever got the idea that I was calling you a ricer I can't understand or see it in the words I used.

There you go..... Its all good..... Feeling better now.....

I serously(sp?) think you are taking EVERYTHING out of context here. Grady was not bashing you at all (at least from what I have read *twice*) and he is very knowedgable man who is willing to help.

Kyle

I used each sentence to try and plainly show that NOTHING I said was directed at you.

As Danny said you have taken EVERYTHING I said out of context.

YOU and only YOU are the only one on this site who has this misunderstanding of my original reply in this thread.

Now read this very carefully......I have nothing against you........I never called you a ricer.........I never said you were stupid you nor do I think anything along those lines about you.

I do suspect English was not your best subject in shcool based upon how this whole STRANGE thing has developed.

Considering I never said any of that stuff you THINK I did why should I owe you an apology.

All I tried to do was.......Tell you what.......NEVER MIND..........cause you will just figure out some way to say I somehow said something about you.

The things you have said to and about me bother me not in the slightest amount cause I've done nothing but try to help everybody on this site to the best of my ability and that includes YOU.

So say what you will about me and I'll just stand on my past dealings with the other members on this site and I am not concerned about you doing harm to my credibility whatsoever.

I'll not reply again in this thread no matter what you post in it and you can be sure that I'll not try to help you again cause all I got for trying this time is all this B S your putting out.

This is what angers me, its not that you couldent help me, etc, Its that you have to sneak in the wise remarks for example:

I do suspect English was not your best subject in shcool based upon how this whole STRANGE thing has developed.
