I have a 180 thermo and my fans r set to come on at 160 but during normal driving conditions the gauge still reads about 190, is this okay or is that too high?

190 is just about right. Sometimes I'll hit 210 for a little bit while driving in town. On the highway it's closer to 150-190.

The other night after doing some higher-speed pulls we used an Infrared Thermometer on mine and my friends 95 engines. If I remember correctly the numbers were...

Mine

Head: 240
Coolant Elbow on head: 220?
Catalytic Converter: 550
Cylinder Valley: 240
Rotors: 175

His car was all the same except his catless exhaust was only 250

I'm assuming you have an aftermarket temp gauge installed right? 190 is OK were do you have the sending unit mounted?
