terminator police car

BS :notnice:

I just LOVE it when cops exercise their authority on civilians by taking property that isn't rightfully theirs.

I unserstand street racing is illegal.
Fine them
Jail them
suspend/revoke their license

But don't steel from them, or anybody.

Dude, its the law. Everyone knows its the law. If you choose to violate the law, then you have to live with the consequences. You know its illegal to steal a six-pack from 7-11 and that you'll go to jail if you do it. What's the difference?

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

The difference is that the police is STEALING someones personal property. Two wrongs do not make a right :nono: .

Bingo!
I never said street racing was OK and I agree 100% that there should be consequences for their actions. I just don't like the fact that they can take your property. And the cop in that video was a little too happy that he had that Cobra. Seems like "personal gain" to me. :notnice:

I don't even know what to say. Other than this is the biggest bunch on B.S. I have ever heard of. This is an outrage and I can't believe this is going on. It won't last for long. It just won't stand up in court when it gets fought. Maybe I am uninformed about this, but this is the first I have heard of this lunacy.
The 550 hp bs after the illegal equipment???Total B.S. again.
I don't know what is legal and illegal in N.C.--where this is happeing as far as I can tell. My bestfriend lives is S.C. and they don't even do inspections-the lucky bastards.
But you just raised my bloodpressure.

Without knowing the laws in North Carolina, or the circumstances the cars were taken under, it could have been perfectly legal to take the cars. An example being, if they tried unsuccessfully to run from the police, then they could have been confiscated because they used the cars to commit a felony. If you don't like the laws, get out and vote for people who are more sympathetic with criminals, but don't be surprised if the laws they do come up with are also things such as banning guns, or amnesty for illegal aliens.

The problem here is that EVERYONE is assuming that the kid handed over the keys to the cops because he had to. I would bet that there was some serious lawyering going on and there was a deal made where the Cobra was handed over in exchange for "time served" and a significant reduction in any monetary penalties.

Don't rush to judgement, boys.

This is No differnet than the county in California that was taking cars and crushing them after the person was convicted of street racing.

If your Gonna play your gonna PAY. Its all a risk you better think about before you race on the street.

I would rather see the car go to be a police car than be crushed.

I can see where you're coming from...but I'd rather do some time than give my Cobra up which probably has 10,000 worth of parts on it.

come on guys, this is ludicris. This is America, not Stalinist Russia. So a cop likes my car. He follows me around keeps his eye on me until I mess up, so that he can convert it to his police car. Where does it stop? It is way too subjective. Two wrongs don't make a right--The police are the criminals here and as far as I am concerned there is no other way to look at it.
This-if you're gonna play you gotta pay mentality--Sure, fine, take their license, give them a big fine--hell lock them up, but don't steal their property.
