Well I am looking into picking one up in sept/oct, so who knows what will be in the lot by then

They had http://www.autotrader.com/dealers/ida/bluewhite3_frame.jtmpl?dealer_id=71746&result_car_id=

a 2001 cobra for like $20000

I think thats alittle out of my price range though.

I mean, is there a big enough difference between the 02 and 03 to wait for them to come down in price?

Edit:: whats tC?

I just had it done and its much better. Not all, but most 5 speeds with the T3650 (late 2001 & up) suffer from this problem.

There is a TSB out for the standard shift models because of a grinding in the 1st to 2nd shift and maybe other gears too. Especially when it is cold. It has to do with replacing syncros and a couple gears I believe. You had best get it done. Lots of people complain about it.

but does the trac control effect the car while moving? i mean, yeah when you get a little crazy and spin the tires in on a wet road, or just a little tire squeeler, then it kicks in, right? i didn think it effected the performance once you are at speed? isnt it just the appling of the abs to prevent excess wheel spin?

Try it--you'll like it.

You'll notice the car will be MUCH more responsive with TC turned-off. I was really surprised myself, not realizing how often I'd get the "sluggish" feeling just going into a simple turn. Heck, even on a straight-away.

At any rate, I'm not super-technical, however, I'm a great user. I now have TC turned-off everytime I start the car up.

wow, thanks for the info mega, i had no idea, cause on that disc they give you when you buy the car it just says "works with abs to prevent unwanted or excessive rear wheel spin" so i just thought take off. thanks again!(i think im still gonna have mine on in bad weather though....)

You should be able to pick up a 03 premium GT w/ under 15k on it for $16k. You should also be able to pick up a cobra used with less than 45k on it for that price too. Remember this is sticker price! You can always jew them down. I love my 2v. You shouldn't have any problem with a stealth. Get gears right off the bat (K&N being first and foremost). 3.73 or 4.10. It will make that laggy problem go away for the most part. Launching becomes a little trickier though with the 4.10's. Good luck with your purchase.

Did the injector size actually change or is it just some cars? My 02 has the pink injectors instead of the standard orange 19pds anyone know why this is?

A stock GT really isn't a super fast car in the grand scheme of things. It's torquey and punchy, but really its just enough to stay ahead of the lower end japanses sports cars that are out now.

Plus, pretty much every car south of a Viper needs to be driven right to truly FEEL fast to the driver. Hell, my 400rwhp blown GT can feel like a dog if it's not driven right. Then again, a Focus SVT can feel fast as hell if driven correctly on the right road.

Sure, they are quick enough to be lots of fun, and they can be modded to be very quick.

I did, I like it alot. I bought this model. (Link
) I paid about the same.

I agree, it is much nice with Traction Control off. I drove it off the lot strait to the muffler shop and had a little flowmaster work done. I have a couple questions about it though. (I have never really owned a "new" sports car)

1. How many miles should I put on it treating it like a lady? I mean, when can I get on it and "break it in". I have yet to let it get up to 5k RPM.
2. It needs a chip, any suggested chips for this model? also any Cold Air Suggestions?

This is my color:

I see that site you are looking at has a few cobras. Why not go with one of those for a few thou more

Sounds like you are really looking for a cobra...
Cobras also have nicer interior, 320 hp, upgraded shocks, springs and 13" brakes (because ford blew it on the GT brakes ) as well as the always nice DOHCs AND....its a cobra

Get a nice 99 or 01 Cobra and you'd be set!

Cobra DOHC engine with 4.10-4.30 gears = you win, teh lose.
