The only problem with that is that will only detect a complete, consistant misfire. These are finiky coils that like to act up especially when water gets in them. The best thing to do is loosen all the coils and with the car running pull out one at a time and ground it to the metal cylinder head. Hold the tip of the coil about half inch away from the head. You should see a good half inch of blue spark. If you can't get that much distance, or if it's a yellowish white spark you have a weak coil. You might only be able to test one bank at a time due to the placement of the intake. So test all of bank 2, then switch the coils from one bank to the other and test those. You should see if you have an ignition problem.
