Electrical Tfi distributior carburetor

I have 82 mustang with a 302 from the wrecking yard and it came with a TFI distributor. Motor came from a Lincoln. When I bought my car ten years ago allot of the wiring had been cut. I used a hei distributor with the previous motor which I don’t have any more. Question is can I make the TFI distributor work? I have a coil and it has the module on the distributor. Thanks for any help.

I drive around for a few years with a TFI distributor and a carburetor. It worked and drove well. Not as well as having computer controlled timing but most people would not have known. I fo not advise it because it's not the right way to do it. Those gm style HEI distributors are pretty cheap.

The HEI conversion on the pre EFI distributors look simple, (4 wires!), effective and cheap. That’s why I’m hoping this is a Duraspark distributor. You have to have a heat sink and thermal paste to keep the module from overheating, but that’s a good idea for a TFI module, too.
