I've missed Stangnet!! Has anybody else's access been down for two days?
Mine was!
Anyway, alot has happened-
1.) Car was driving fine all day (yesterday), truned it off for a min., tried tostart again and died, started, died, wouldn't start, wouldn't start, etc., etc.
No codes came out, 20 min. later tried to start again, fired right up.
I've read that this indicates a bad TFI, so I tried to put on a wells unit today, swapped between the wells and my old one, never got the Wells to wrok so I returned it and am picking up a Motorcraft one tomorrow.
It was 85* yesterday - does this ound like a TFI problem?

2.) Do I have to disconnect the battery after bumping the timing? I disconnected the SPOUT connector and put it around 14*, so disconnect or no disconnect on the battery?

3.) I set my TPS to .90 with the key OFF. I have heard that this can't be done.
OK......
When I tried to set it w/ the key ON, it was going NUTS!
19.65, 11.64, 7.93, 16.53, so on and so forth, jumpin all over the place?
What's the deal? Cars behavior is fine, no stalling, dying surging idle etc...

Any ideas on any of my problems????????

Thanks guys, good to be back!!

module ? i don't know

timing, you can remove the batt cable for about 1/2 hour to reset the computer if you wanted to...but don't have to , to adjust timing...start it, remove the spout, time it, plug the spout back in

tps, your not hooked to the correct wires then.....what color did u use? key on , but car not started....
key has to be on...car can't be running

no thats it....unless it's the orange one.

i always forget...but those numbers sound like ones you get from the wrong wire.....but i'm pretty sure it is the green.

on the green w/ the red, and on a clean bolt or something w/ the black (don't use the batt cable) w/ the key turned on but the engine not running....try it again, if the numbers are the same try the orange wire.

No offense taken - the meter was in the correct position, but for all I know, the meter could be crap.
I still find it interesting that I could achieve .95v w the key off....

Sounds like you had ohms or some other setting. Check the batteries in your meter.

Use the green & black/white wires to set the TPS voltage, Key on, Engine off.

The orange white wire is Vref and should be 5 volts +/- .25 volt. Always use the black/white wire for voltage measurments for the sensors located in the engine compartment.
