Soon to have one on my 408 that I'm building. Don't know about the tall valve covers though. I think that it should fit though. I think I saw a picture im MM&FF of a 393 with tall valve covers and the 351-R intake.

Honestly I have no idea what issue it was but it was a couple years ago in a 3-issue series of different N/A combo buildups from 306 all the way to 427. The 393 had the TFS 351R manifold, AFR 185 heads, XE-282HR cam, 36# injectors, and like 9.5:1 compression. It made 475hp I think. I really don't know why I remember so much about that motor and can't remember which issue it was. I hope that helps though. That motor was what I was going to base my 408 on. Except I am now getting the Trick Flow R heads and 42# injectors. My rotating assembly is from CHP and it is 10:1 so it isn't that much different from the 393 except for the heads. Steve from Powertrain Dynamics here in CA said that the R heads will perform better than the 185's on my motor. The only problem is that I still need to buy the heads. That and the Kooks headers is pretty much all I'm waiting on. How much power does your motor make? Is it pretty streetable? My Mustang is still going to be my daily driver after the swap and I hope that it's not too much. What do you think?
