Couple things... Just gaskets!! Install that E cam in at 106 ICL ( 4* advanced), work on your 60 fts try for a 1.8 or even a 1.9 !!
The TFS1 cam is a cood cam and a lot of people are getting killer results ( esp for the price) Idle is more erratic than the E and will pull a little more power. the ICL is 107.5/108... me?? yep install at 106* ( advanced 2*)
The TFS2 is also good... again the idle quality will sux with F/I but tuneable!! the high lift and 112 LSA is work able and will help more than the other two, but it will need mods to the "puter!!

The HEADS are the bottle neck!! or sewer pipe!! Huge ports and lazy velocity!! that is the reason to stay small cam and get the ICL closer to 0. the intake closes sooner and allows the engine to build pressure and velocity!! you will be happy with the E advanced or the TFS1 ( advanced) but then its.........

we have found out that a lot of shelf cams will make more power if the ICL is in around 104-106*, cool?? the TFS! has a 107.5( or 108 ) ICL, so yes, advance it till you make 106* or less (2* will give you 106*) cool?? I have done more advance, but your rocking with the 106*

Go on ANY cam web page... Crower, Crane, Comp cams... they will explain the cam phasing to ya!! You will need a timing chain set with " keyways cut for degreeing a camshaft" 3 position.. 0 +4 -4 or the 9 position.. 0 +2 +4 +6 +8 -2 -4 -6 -8 ( usually FMS or the ones I sell ) you NEED to know the cams ICL, FMS E cam is cut on a 110* ICL so install it in the 4* advanced mark and that will be 106* ( 110* - 4* = 106*)
DEPENDING on the Chain assy.. and how correct the one you are using is... you should be very close... The TFS1 cam is cut on a 107.5 ICL, cool?? Hope this helps!!

Yeah, yeah... degreeing the camshaft is the only TRUE way to find the exact Intake centerline !! but the T/C assys and knowing the ICL means... bump the sucker 4* and rock!!

I am looking at the TFS Track Heat kit w/ Stage 1 cam.
I am thinking about advancing that cam also. My FMS timing set has only 3 keyways. So I am limited to 4* either way correct??
I see that 2* was mentioned..Is 4* OK also or is it too much??

Does advancing just more the curves around?? Are there negatives to advancing it??
Thanx

to advance the cam get the adjustable key way timing sets. will come with multiple key slots for the crank snout, and have the degress that slot represents. each slot advances/ retards the cam depending on which way u go.

advancing the camshaft usually shifts your powerband down a little bit. retarding the cam tends to move the powerband up.

i put in a B-cam and talked to thumper and he said to advance it 4* so i did. i still have lots of low end and it still pulls higher up that the stocker. with my thumper heads and tmoss lower its killer on the street and has lots of usable power down low. has a alot more street friendly powerband that say... my friends car. his car has ported gt-40 intake and ported gt40P heads along with a lunati cam ( around the same as B-cam) his car pulls good but has more of that 'building up' feel. doesnt just snap and go. u have to rev it to get it moving.
